There was further tragedy on Irish roads this past weekend as a 31-year-old man was sadly killed in a road traffic incident in Co Laois on Sunday.
It is the man was killed after the car which he was driving hit a tree in Borris-in-Ossory, Ballybrophy, at approximately 9am on Sunday morning.
Gardaí say the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was taken to Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise, where a post-mortem examination will take place.
