Gardaí in Co. Monaghan have confirmed that woman has sadly died following a collision with a car in Clonavogy near Castleblayney this afternoon.
The woman aged was struck by a car on the N2 at approximately 1pm this afternoon. Gardaí say the woman was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken by Air Ambulance to St. James’s Hospital in Dublin where a short time later she was later pronounced dead.
It is believed a second pedestrian, a 60-year-old man, was also stuck by the car and sustained minor injuries.
