There was some tragic news announced this evening as a young child has sadly passed away after he was struck by a vehicle in Galway.
The young boy, who was just 21-months-old, sadly lost his life after he was hit by a vehicle in the driveway at his home in the Carraroe area at approximately 3.45pm.
The young boy was subsequently air lifted to University Hospital Galway but was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
Gardaí say an investigation is ongoing regarding the accident.
