While gardening at his house in County Cork, a man in his 50s was repeatedly stung by wasps, which ultimately led to his death, reports RTE.
Locally, he is known as Michael (Mick) Sheehan.
On Tuesday, when trimming a hedge on his property, Mr. Sheehan unintentionally disturbed a wasp’s nest and was stung many times.
He fainted at the scene and was taken to the emergency room, but he was declared dead shortly after, reports RTE.
The corpse of Mr. Sheehan was sent to Cork University Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
It is thought that Mr. Sheehan could have had a negative response to the wasp stings, reports RTE.
