Tributes have been paid locally to a man who passed away following a fall near the Devil’s Chimney waterfall in Co Sligo.
It’s understood that the man fell some 20 metres at the edge of the waterfall.
The well known tourist spot is located on the border between counties Sligo and Leitrim.
The deceased, a man in his 60s, was walking near the waterfall when the incident happened. Gardai believe that he might have become disoriented and strayed from the safe walking path.
The man was still alive when paramedics reached him, but died a short time later.
