Close family and relatives have paid tributes to little Summer Grant, the 7-year-old child who tragically died after the bouncy castle she was playing in was torn off its moorings in high winds and blew almost 400ft across the fair.

Witnesses say that the girl was catapulted high up in the air by the inflatable’s momentum.

Relatives said that “Summer was a bright, beautiful and most loving little girl. It’s so unfair that you have been taken, it just doesn’t make sense, I’m truly heartbroken.”

Guidelines specify that erecting inflatable structures in winds over 24mph is unsafe, and should be avoided. There was a wind warning in effect for the area for that afternoon.

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter by gross negligence, and have been bailed until May 4, pending enquiries.
