Trolley crisis gets worse as new figures show 12,000 patients were waiting on a bed last month




There were over 12,000 people left waiting on trolleys at hospitals across the country in the month of January.

According to new figures published by the INMO last month was the second worst month on record.

The figures which more than highlight the current crisis show that a total of 1,215 patients without beds at University Hospital Limerick in January.

Cork University Hospital was second on the list with 1,107, University Hospital Galway 872 came third.

Meanwhile South Tipperary General Hospital had 824 and the Mater Hospital in Dublin had 607 waiting for a bed.
