Two Luas stoppages planned for this week have been called off

Good news for Dublin commuters, as it has emerged this morning that two Luas stoppages planned for Thursday and Friday this week have been called off.

The move follows a recommendation by the Labour Court for pay rises of 18.3% in basic pay for the drivers over the course of the next four years.

The Labour Court also stated that a 30-min long extension in the drivers’ shifts should not be implemented. This issue had previously been a major stumbling block in negotiations

Siptu will now consider these recommendations, and give an answer on behalf of drivers later in the week.

As things stand right now, four further strikes planned for later this month are still set to go ahead.
