The UK has reported the death of 739 new people from Covid-19-related causes over the last 24h.
The total death toll there now stands at 27,510. This figure includes people who may have died from Covid-19 outside hospital settings.
Meanwhile, Britain’s Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty has warned that a second coronavirus wave ‘could be worse than the first one.’
