Russian engineers are hastily building pontoon bridges across the Dnipro River to facilitate the evacuation of troops trapped in Kherson.
The southern city has been under Russian control for some time, but Ukrainian troops are positioning themselves for an assault to retake, which is expected to happen within days.
The Russian troops trapped in the city are backed against the river so they have nowhere to run, hence the desperate action by the engineer corps.
