The Tanaiste Leo Varadkar has called on both employers and employees to make remote/home working the new normal following the Covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking at the launch of #MakingRemoteWork programme the Tanaiste said the system of remote working can be done as the pandemic has already proven that.
Although he admitted that most people want a mix of office and remote working, he did state that both employers and employees need to engage with one another in order to make such a system work.
Varadkar also said that new legislation regarding the issue will be introduced later this year.
He added that we will be in a situation were we don’t see people just naturally drifting back to the office.
