Diabetics across the country have been issued a warning by Diabetes Ireland after the company behind the popular energy drink Lucozade announced plans to change their recipe.

According to various reports the energy drinks giant will reduce the amount of glucose it puts in it’s product.
The news is considered a blow to many Irish diabetics as they are regularly advised to consume the drink when their blood glucose levels becomes low.
It is understood the company plan to reduce the level of glucose contained in a bottle Lucozade by 50%, the reduction will now render the drink as insufficient to sufferers as the new recipe will not be enough to counteract hypoglycaemia.
