Watch: Five Kilkenny students make a remarkable video to highlight the seriousness of mental health issues amongst students




The topic and importance of mental health has made great strides in recent years as many Irish people have begun to talk about their problems without feeling embarrassed or ashamed.

The welcome turn around about such a delicate issue has been aided by the efforts of those who know what it is like to have mental health problems or know someone who has suffered with such problems in the past. With that this remarkable video will surely make great strides in helping make more people aware that it is ok to talk about your problems.

The captivating video made by Shane Parsons, from Kilkenny, and his five friends from DCU/St. Patrick’s College highlights the seriousness of mental health in Ireland, particularly among students. An inspirational Shane told reporters that their message was a simple one, as he made the clip to “make people aware that’s it’s okay to be not okay”.
