In tonight’s Late Late Show on RTE, various individuals who have been subjected to burglaries over the past two years said they have had more than enough.

‘Smash and grab’ robberies are rife in rural Ireland according to crime correspondent David McWilliams.

The “silent majority” have had enough. The recent Corcoran crime and murder of Tony Golden have highlighted the spate of disgusting crime in country areas.

Solicitor Ciaran O’Brien said “we are sick of it. We won’t take it anymore. We’re going to fight to get Ireland back.”

The panel went on to say “these thugs and scumbags have to be stopped”.

Emotional statements were made that Ireland needs a garda in every single village, town and city suburb in the country.

Over 2,000 people turned out to a protest meeting in Tipperary last Tuesday. The thugs went onto an extent of stealing a one-armed farmer’s tools.

Many people are blaming Enda Kenny’s government for removing so many gardai across the country, and the very lenient criminal sentences.

There definitely seems to be a change in the mood and rural Ireland are beginning to fight back.
