Woman accused of faking her own death and tampering with the legal system

A Dublin woman has been put on trial for allegedly using fraudulent medical records to fake her death and tampering with the legal system, reports the Irish Independent.

Amy McAuley, 34, a mother of one, was detained in June and released on €500 bail. She is currently residing in Connagh, Fethard-On-Sea, County Wexford.

It comes after a detective unit from the Pearse Street Garda station conducted an inquiry. Following the service of the books of evidence on her by Detective Garda Des Rogers, the proceedings at Dublin District Court were resumed today, Friday, reports Independent.

A higher level indictment trial with more expansive sentencing powers was presided over by the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Ms. McAuley will appear in court again in February at the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court after Judge Paula Murphy granted return for trial orders, reports the Irish Independent.
