Gardaí in Waterford have confirmed that a woman is in serious condition in hospital after a fire in the city last night.

It is believed the woman along with four fire-fighters were taken to Waterford University Hospital after a blaze broke out at an apartment complex on Wellington street.
Gardaí say the four firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation, and three have since been discharged whilst the other been admitted for observation.
Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene of the fire which belonged to the woman aged in 30s at approximately 11pm.
