Gardaí in Cork have confirmed that a woman has been rescued from the River Lee after she entered the water to rescue her dog.
It is understood that rescue teams were called out this evening after the woman was seen entering the water at Horgan’s Quay.
Gardaí say the woman decided to enter the water after her dog fell approximately 9 feet from the quayside before getting into difficulties.
Thankfully both the woman are said to be recovering from the incident and they have since been reunited.
