A man in his late 20s is in a critical condition in University Hospital Waterford today, after being found unconscious in a Waterford street yesterday evening.
Gardai are keeping an open mind about the incident, as they are unsure whether he sustained injuries as a result of an assault, or a fall.
Any witnesses, or anyone with information regarding this incident, is being asked to contact Gardai.
