Your Christmas week weather report: Cold, rain, and maybe, just maybe, a little snow

christmasweather

With just 7 days to go till Christmas Day, shopping, good food, and presents is in everyone’s mind.

But the weather will also play a part on the enjoyment of the actual day.

Ireland will likely not have a White Christmas, but then again, does it ever?

Monday will begin cloudy and wet, with widespread frost forming as darkness falls.

Tuesday is expected to be rather wet, with heavy rain speading across the country during the afternoon and evening. The rain will die out towards dawn, giving way to a cold and frosty Wednesday, with some showers blighting western areas.

Thursday will see a similar pattern, while Friday will bring a rather cold, wet, and windy day.

Early indications say that the Christmas weekend will be cold and wet, with a little snow on higher ground.
