Investigation underway as Aer Lingus flight diverts off course and grounded due to “medical emergency”

An Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to JFK in New York has declared a medical emergency yesterday evening which is currently being investigated by Aer Lingus staff.

The captain alerted the control tower that a medical emergency had been declared and that the plane would be forced to divert and land in a nearby airport.

The plane diverted towards Goose Bay Airport in Newfoundland in the North East of America.

Flight EI105 departed Dublin Airport shortly after 11am yesterday morning and was scheduled to arrive at 1:20 US time, shortly after 6pm Irish time but some time late yesterday afternoon, the plane diverted due to the emergency.

It’s believed Aer Lingus staff are today looking into what exactly happened aboard the flight.
