There was some sad news announced this evening as GardaĆ in Co Limerick have revealed that a man has tragically died after he came into contact with power lines whilst cutting hedges in Athea.
It is understood the man was cutting hedges in the village of Athea at approximately 1pm this afternoon when he accidently clipped some power lines. He was subsequently electrocuted and tragically died at the scene. Emergency services, including the fire service from Abbeyfeale and the gardaĆ were called immediately.
GardaĆ say the scene has been sealed off whilst a technical examination take place, it is understood the mans body still remains at the scene.
