The national lead of testing and tracing, Niamh O’Beirne has confirmed that 18 to 20% of new covid cases in Ireland are of people who have been fully vaccinated.
The concerning news emerges as Ireland continues to have around 1,800 new daily cases.
She said that the figures are increasing but that it’s not unexpected.
The HSE claims that people who have been fully vaccinated are not getting as bad of a dose of covid as unvaccinated but many people remain unconvinced and say that they’ll never the vaccine regardless of circumstances.
