A 15-yr-old boy has sadly died after he got into difficulty in Lough Ree, County Westmeath.
Emergency services arrived at the scene near Carnakilla Point in Glasson shortly after 7:30pm on Saturday evening.
The boy was recovered from the water soon afterwards and was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was then taken to Regional Hospital Mullingar.
