🔴BREAKING: An 8-yr-old boy has sadly died after being struck by a car in Cork




An 8-yr-old boy has sadly died in hospital after he was struck by a car while cycling in Cork last weekend.

The young boy was critically injured at a pedestrian crossing at the Ballinrea roundabout on the Cork Road into Carrigaline at 9.20am on Saturday morning when he was struck by a car when he was with his mother and younger brother at the time.

The boy was rushed to Cork University Hospital and later transferred to Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street in Dublin, where sadly he died on Wednesday evening.

Gardaí are appealing to witnesses or drivers with dash cam to contact Togher Garda Station on 021 494 7120, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 66-61-11, or any garda station.

The local community is said to be absolutely heartbroken.
