Celebrity Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tony Holohan’s time in the limelight will no longer continue with NPHET version 2.0.
This new group is essentially the same as the old National Public Health Emergency Team by another name, as it fulfils the same function with mostly the same people, and, presumably, the same wages, but Holohan will no longer be taking part in it.
It has now become clear that Holohan will not take a second salary on top of his new €187,000 role as Trinity Professor.
It’s understood that he plans on retiring from public life in July and will not be seeking any big public jobs at this time.
