The Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald has called on the Taoiseach to fire Simon Coveney today for what she called behaviour below the standard expected of a minister.
Mary Lou McDonald said that if Micheál Martin doesn’t take action, Sinn Féin will. She said this would include the option of a vote of no confidence by the minister, which is on the table.
It’s understood that Sinn Fein may table a no-confidence motion in Coveney.
