Russia’s Daniil Medvedev has finally won his maiden Grand Slam in emphatic fashion in Flushing Meadows, New York City.
He beat world no 1 Novak Djokovic in straight sets 6/4 6/4 6/4.
It was a one-sided affair throughout. Medvedev broke Djokovic in the first game of the match and never looked back from there.
Djokovic was aiming to be the first man to ever win 4 Grand Slams in a row twice.
