The Department of Health have announced a further 340 cases of Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland with the number of people in hospital being treated for the virus standing at 47.
The number of people being treated in ICU has risen by 2 since Saturday to 15.
In Northern Ireland, 298 positive cases of Covid-19 have been reported and no deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours. A total of 1,996,954 vaccines were administered there.
It’s understood that Tony Holohan is said to be very worried about the new trend in case numbers.
