?BREAKING: First case of Monkeypox detected in the Republic of Ireland

The HSE has confirmed that the first case of Monkeypox has been detected in the Republic of Ireland.

It’s also understood that a second person, separate to the confirmed case is being tested for the virus after having similar symptoms.

The HSE did not give specifics on where these people are located other than their close contacts are now being tested.

It’s believed that Monkeypox won’t be remotely as serious or spread as fast as what we’ve seen over the past two years.

Symptoms include a fever, aches and a rash.
