A major garda investigation is under way in Mallow, Co Cork, after the discovery of a woman’s body at an apartment in the town on Friday morning.
The apartment where the woman’s body was discovered has been sealed off and declared a crime scene.
Gardai say that the dead woman was in her 30s and was originally from a town in west Cork.
Emergency services and gardai raced to the apartment at the Belfry, Bridewell Lane, in Mallow at around 10.30am.
It’s understood the woman had suffered injuries, and was declared dead at the scene.
Locals are saying that foul play is suspected in the woman’s death.
