Gardaí are investigating a possible attempted kidnapping of a child in south Dublin on Monday.
The boy was walking home from school when a man in a van tried to lure the boy into his vehicle.
The incident happened on Bath Avenue, Sandymount, Dublin 4 on Monday afternoon.
The incident is believed to have happened as the boy was walking home from a nearby school. Thankfully the young child was able to run away from the van, is unharmed and was able to raise the alarm.
The attempt was reported shortly afterwards at Irishtown Garda station, the closest to where the abduction occured.
It’s understood it was around 3pm on Monday afternoon on Bath Avenue in Dublin 4. Gardai are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the attempted abduction.
