The Department of Health has announced a further 1586 new cases of covid have been detected over the past 24 hours.
They have confirmed that a total of 298 people are in hospital across the country with 56 people in ICU.
The number of cases continue to hover well over 1000 a day but the numbers are thankfully dropping fast with normality hopefully on the horizon.
