?BREAKING: Holohan refuses to rule out a lockdown before Christmas saying the the “level of infection is very very high”

Ireland’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan was interviewed on Virgin Media News and was pushed on rumours of a lockdown before Christmas. He repeatedly refused to deny that a lockdown will take place this side of Christmas by skating around and claiming that people need to do more on an individual basis to get the R number below 1.

Holohan said:
At this time of year, as people meet up with family – we need to do everything we can.

We need to focus on the individual measures that we can all do, such as wearing masks and socially distancing. No amount of measures can make people wash their hands or put on people’s mask.

These as measures that we need to understand ourselves and follow as much as possible. The government has already put in some restrictions such as working from home and closing the nightlife economy early, he concluded.
