?BREAKING: Holohan warns public “stay at home” – Irish health authorities report 7,411 new coronavirus infections over the past 24h

Ireland’s Chief Medical Officer said that the Irish public should only meet with people they’re spending Christmas Day with – no one else.

He said that people should stay at home and avoid going out over Christmas.

Leo Varadkar said that nothing can be ruled out in relation to further restrictions or a lockdown being enforced over the next number of weeks.

Irish health authorities have reported official figures that say that there have been 7,411 new infections confirmed in that period of time.

There currently are 390 people in hospital with severe coronavirus-induced disease. It’s not known how many of these are fully vaccinated.

It’s understood that 98 people are in ICU around the country.

Dr Tony Holohan said he remains very concerned about the situation and how it’s unfolding.

It’s understood that this is one of the lowest numbers in recent weeks – just as the government have imposed more draconian restrictions on the Irish people.

Holohan said that people need to come together to flatten the curve again this year.
