Irish health authorities have reported just over 5,150 new coronavirus infections over the past 24h.
Official figures say that there have been 5,156 new infections confirmed in that period of time.
There currently are 503 people in hospital with severe coronavirus-induced disease. It’s not known how many of these are fully vaccinated.
Dr Tony Holohan said he remains very concerned about the situation and how it’s unfolding.
