The shooting took place at a restaurant on Blanchardstown’s Main St on Christmas Eve night.
The dead man was aged in his 20s and is believed to have been one of the gunmen and appears to have sustained fatal stab wounds.
A man in his 40s suffered gunshot wounds and is in a critical condition in hospital after emergency services attended the scene.
A firearm has been found at the scene with gardai sealing off the area.
The incident took place at Browne’s Steakhouse after 8pm as customers including families with children were eating out on Christmas Eve.
It’s understood that people ran from the scene in shock and fright.
