NPHET now say that things have taken a serious turn as the most recorded daily cases have been announced today.
Irish health authorities have reported official record figures that say that there have been 20,554 new infections confirmed in that period of time.
There currently are 619 people in hospital with severe coronavirus-induced disease. It’s not known how many of these are fully vaccinated.
It’s understood that88 people are in ICU around the country.
Holohan said that people need to come together to flatten the curve again this year and do much more than they’re doing.
