In what can only be described as one of the most talked about fights in history, Katie Taylor has made history tonight by beating Amanda Serrano in Madison Square Garden in New York.
The Bray woman had a tough task on her hands against the Porto Rican but she managed to take Serrano’s best shots and still get across the line.
A tough round 6 nearly saw Taylor knocked out but she came box to win on points.
A packed out arena saw 18,000 people screaming the house down as Taylor’s arms were raised for the victory.
There’s already talks about a possible rematch in none other than Dublin’s fair city.
