?BREAKING: Simon Coveney survives no confidence vote in the Dail over #ZapponeGate

The Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney has survived a no confidence motion put forward by Sinn Fein.

The motion of no confidence was over the appointment of Katherine Zappone to a massive job worth well over €100,000 per year.

Earlier today, Fianna Fail’s Marc MacSherry resigned from the parliamentary party as he intended to vote no confidence in Coveney. Marc said that it was undemocratic for Fianna Fail not to have a free vote.

The final result ended in Ta 91 Nil 59.
