A teenage boy has sadly  died in a two-car collision near Mitchelstown, Co Cork.
The crash occurred at 1am between Junctions 12 and 13, on the northbound carriageway of the M8 motorway.
The victim was a passenger in one of the cars of the accident.
Gardaà say that the driver of the car, a teenage boy, and three other passengers, an adult male in his teens, a teenage boy and teenage girl, were rushed  to Cork University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle was a woman in her 30s. She was taken to the CUH where she is being treated for serious injuries.
It’s understood GSOC are involved as the car the teenagers were driving in has a collision with a Garda car before the crash.
