Two men have sadly died and another man is in critical condition after the car they were travelling in entered a river in Galway this morning.
Gardai were called to a report of a car in the water at Menlo Pier in Galway city at 2.40am.
It’s understood that three men were taken from the River Corrib’s waters and transferred to University Hospital Galway, where two passed away.
The third man is described as being in a critical condition in the hospital.
The scene is preserved for a technical examination and the services of Forensic Collision Investigators have been requested.
