Gardai have confirmed this afternoon that a woman in her 20s has passed away following a ‘swimming accident’ in an Irish county.
The incident happened at Lough Gowna in Co. Cavan at around 9.30pm on Wednesday where the woman is believed to have sadly drowned while out swimming.
The victim’s body was retrieved a short time later. Gardai are not suspecting foul play.
