However, The Liberal understands that a threatening phone call was made to St Oliver’s Secondary School in Drogheda with an alleged serious threat that made the school phone for Garda presence immediately.

The Liberal has learned of the contents of the alleged phone call but we cannot publish the details at this time.

Please note – It’s understood that everyone is safe in the school and that nothing has happened but that Gardai are at the building.

Earlier this morning:

A number of concerning posts have appeared on social media about St Oliver’s Secondary School in Drogheda, Co Louth.

Various parents are saying that they’ve received panicked texts from their children in the school with some claiming that Gardai are now present at the school’s entrance.

A number of other people are claiming that they heard Gardai speed up the Rathmullen Road on the way to the school.

There is information that someone made a phone call that raised an alarm warranting the gardai to be present at the school. We have further details on this but it must be stressed that these are not stated as fact at this time so we cannot publish further information at this point.

We are investigating more information on this incident.
