A pair of one-year-old twins sadly passed away after being left in a hot car for eight hours during one of the worst heatwaves to hit New York.
The babies’ father allegedly forgot that the children were in the car as he went for his normal shift at work. The man only noticed them as he got into the car again to drive home.
The father has been charged with two counts of manslaughter and two counts of criminally negligent homicide.
A number of children die in similar circumstances in the United States every year.
