For those who still watch RTE and those who have stopped watching and still have to pay their €160 TV license fee each year, you may have taken part in their “Have Your Say” online survey.

RTE asked for your opinions so they can formulate what they call their Public Service Statement. The survey took the form of pre-defined questions which were constructed with a positive bias towards RTE. Terms like “highest editorial standards” and “being autonomous in all areas of programming” were used.

The RTE survey did not ask questions about RTE salaries of their employee and self employed presenters.

Some highlights from the RTE survey;
“High quality news: 97% say it’s important that RTÉ provides high quality national and international news and current affairs that is accurate, fair, impartial and objective”

“Independence and accountability: 94% say it is important that RTÉ is independent from political, commercial and other influences”
