A 14-yr-old boy, appeared in court via video-link from Rainsbrook Secure Training Centre in Northamptonshire has been charged with murder of a 14-year-old boy who was stabbed with a sword that had been hidden inside a walking stick.
The victim, 14-yr-old Fares Maatou was attacked during a confrontation between two groups of youths in Canning Town, east London, shortly after the end of the school day on Friday April 23 reports the Metro.
Fares was stabbed with a blade and was pronounced dead 30 minutes later due to an 11cm wound to his upper body.
Judge Philip Katz QC set a plea hearing for July 16 and remanded the teenager, from Grays, Essex, into custody.
A total of 10 arrests have been made in connection to the vicious attack according to Scotland Yard.
