Following two significant public order events in Cork city, including the alleged assault of two Gardaí, sixteen people appeared in court his afternoon.

in Sunday night, there were occurrences in Oliver Plunkett Street and in the vicinity of Daunt Square.

Sunday night, at approximately 10pm, when Gardaí were on patrol and helping a man who was laying on Oliver Plunkett Street, a large group started acting aggressively, both physically and verbally.

As backup, many gardaí showed up at the site, reports Breaking News.

Pepper spray was used by the officers when they were forced to order the gathering to leave.

A garda received a blow to the face, while another was shoved to the ground.

Both continued on job and did not seek medical treatment, reports Breaking News.
