A teenager has been charged with the murder of 6-year-old Alesha MacPhail.
Alesha went missing from her relatives’ home in the Scottish island of Bute on Monday morning. Her body was found by a member of the public shortly afterwards.
The murder shocked the normally quiet and tight-knit social environment of the Bute community.
Specially trained officers had to be sent to the island as local law enforcement staff had never dealt with a murder case before.
