The teenager accused of murdering Lorna Woodnut has been remanded in custody after appearing in Tullamore District Court via video link this morning, reports RTE.
Judge Andrew Coady explained to the defendants that today’s appearance was a formality intended to extend their detention for a further 14 days.
During the brief hearing, the teenager was asked if he had any questions, to which they replied “no”, reports RTE.
The teenager was arraigned last Saturday evening on charges of murder and was remanded to Obertown Children’s Detention Centre.
The defendant will appear again at Tullamore District Court on October 18 at 10.15am.
The video link was down during the morning hearing, but Judge Cody and the defendant agreed to use audio only, reports RTE.
Reporting restrictions remain in place on the case.
