A hiker who had a serious fall in the Croatian mountains was comforted by his dog, who curled around him for hours, keeping him warm against the harsh conditions.
According to the Mirror, Grga Brkic was hiking with two others when he fell down a 500ft slope and was unresponsive. While his companions alerted mountain rescue, Brkic’s dog North never left his master’s side but kept him warm until help arrived.
North refused to leave Grga’s side, even sitting with his master as he was laid on the rescue stretcher.
The dog has been branded a hero and has been praised by the Croatian mountain rescue team, who wrote on Facebook that “friendship and love between man and dog knows no boundaries.”
